Castlefield is located about 1.5 miles to the south of the village of Frittenden, with its primary school, old church and the popular Bell and Jorrocks public house. The nearby town of Cranbrook (3.6 miles) provides good local shopping and leisure facilities whilst more extensive shopping, sport and leisure facilities can be found in Tenterden (6.8 miles) and Tunbridge Wells (17 miles).

Mainline rail services can be found at Staplehurst (3.8 miles) and Headcorn (4.8 miles) with services to London Charing Cross and London Bridge. A high speed train service runs from Ashford to London St Pancras in 37 minutes.

The property falls within Cranbrook School catchment (2025). There is a wide range of schools in the area in both the state and private sectors at primary and secondary level. Primary schools include Cranbrook, Benenden and Sissinghurst. Local comprehensive schools include Homewood School in Tenterden and there are various private schools including Dulwich Preparatory School in Cranbrook, Saint Ronans and Marlborough House Vine Hall and Benenden Girls School.
