Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is definitely one of the strong points. Broad Street is lively and very central — you have restaurants, bars, and plenty of things going on nearby. Most plans and meetups tend to happen around this area, so it's convenient to be based here. Yes, it can get noisy on the weekends, but you get used to it. The street is well-lit and has always felt safe, even at night.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Management could improve. In three years, I only got a reply to my emails maybe twice when I emailed about issues. I raised concerns about same kids all the time being disruptive in the gym and lounge, and about one of the entrances being in the dark for over two years — not ideal for safety — but never heard back. The concierge team is always kind and willing to help, but there’s only so much they can do. Some issues really need attention from general management. That said, Molly has always been very kind, responsive, and proactive when it comes to maintaining order and following up on issues :)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

More recently they introduced a new policy requiring residents to pay to use the dining room and cinema — around £50 (I think?), which feels excessive, especially since these spaces used to be freely accessible. Now, even if you just want to pop in for a few minutes, they're locked and require booking and payment.

    Manager's response

Thanks Lisa for taking time to leave you review and for raising concerns openly over the last few years. We really appreciate your feedback. All suggestions re additions or alterations to design are fed back to our central team for review and consideration, unfortunately not everything is progressed or signed off. We all wish you the very best in your next chapter and sad to see you leave!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Peter and Moses have made this in an amazing exerpience. Tesco, is next door, as well as Sainbury, open until 11pm.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The unused space, could be beneficial to use for office/studying space.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The policy for friend referral was not clearly advertised, so i have referred some friends but did not apply for additional discount.

    Manager's response

Thank you Mohammed! :) Your feedback re chairs was shared with our design team last year-we're always open to suggestions even if not all are progressed- thank you!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great transportation access, many local stores, only bad aspect is the noise on the weekends, but it’s not a big issue as it’s what you would expect on Broad Street.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Responses to maintenance issues is great, we’ve had problems with the shower when we moved in that were fixed quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The moda marketplace is very convenient, and allows residents of the building to find good items for cheap prices

    Manager's response

Thank you Hayden O for taking time to leave us some feedback. It would be great to learn what we could improve in order to get full stars from you- So pleased that you have had a positive experience at The Mercian :)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living here has been mostly positive. The neighbourhood is within walking distance of grocery stores and the city centre, which is very convenient. Public transport links are good. However, it can get a bit noisy on weekend nights due to nearby pubs and clubs. Parking is limited but manageable. Bin collections are regular, and I’ve not experienced much anti-social behaviour.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Overall, the building management has been responsive and helpful. Moses and Peter have been especially supportive. At times, repairs can take a bit longer than expected, but issues are usually resolved properly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The building is pet friendly, which is great, but I wish I had known that occasional hygiene issues can still happen in shared areas. The cleaning and concierge team are very responsive, though, and always deal with it quickly.

    Manager's response

Thank you R Zhu, we really value your feedback about the team and building! :)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The range of shops is good. Tesco and Sainsbury’s are very close and lots of transport links to the city and other places.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes everything is responded back to quickly and professionally

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing bad to say honestly. Everything so far so good

    Manager's response

Thank you Yabo Zhang- we really appreciate our residents feedback!
