The village of Enfield caters for all the day to day shopping requirements as well as boasting a good choice of shopping educational and recreational facilities.  Furthermore, there is an excellent daily bus and train service to the city centre.  The M4 affords quick and easy access to the capital as well as Liffey Valley shopping centre.

DESCRIPTION:

St. Ultan’s (C of I) Church owes its origins back to 1806 when it was constructed, replacing a medieval church named after the patron saint of Rathcore parish, St. Ultan.

Two porches were added in 1865 to the entrance gable and the north elevation and the building has remained comparably unspoiled or unchanged by the passage of time.  The former C of I church is an attractive building occupying an elevated setting comprising a gable-fronted church with three-bay side elevations to the nave, unique curved Aspe to the eastern elevation with a fine decorated stained glass window.

The church which is surmounted by a pitched slate roof is adorned by a number of particularly fine features including cast iron windows to the two porches with time doors set in openings with ashlar limestone dressings, timber tracery windows set in pointed openings with limestone cills.

The church closed for worship on 31st December 2023 and was subsequently deconsecrated earlier this year.
