The main house features a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom and, on the lower level, a beautiful and very spacious lounge with exposed timbers and a wood burner. The lounge is beautifully cool in the Summer.

Unusually, the house has very high ceilings so is bright and airy (although the lounge is cosy).

From the lounge is a door to the annexe, which features two further bedrooms, a bathroom and a reception room, with direct access to the garden.

The painted wooden floors and the understated style throughout make the annexe another very attractive space - perfect for guests or as additional space to the main house.

Outside the main entrance to the house is a veranda with a seating area affording lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The garden itself (0.72 acres) is divided between a stunning formal flower garden outside the house, a grassed area (which is enclosed for dogs) and a meadow bordered by hedges and trees. The flower and herb garden has an irrigation system.

There is also an attractive stone summer house in the garden, with adjoining storage space for tools and mowers and so forth.

The design and decor of this lovely old house are testimony to the vision and dedication of Herman and Monique, the Dutch couple from whom we bought the house two years ago. Our intention was to eventually live in the house but our plans have changed and so now is the time to sell. The house has been extremely well maintained and garden and house is looked after by a lady in the village - so can be left for long periods of time - so a perfect holiday home.

Mirovets itself is a pleasant and friendly village with a small shop and a bus service to Targovishte. One of the highlights of the village year is the annual pancake festival, featuring folk music, dancing and plenty to eat and drink besides pancakes.

One of the attractions of Mirovets village is its lovely setting. You can walk from the village into the surrounding countryside and visit the nearby Beli Lom Resevoir or, further afield, explore the provincial towns of Targovishte, Shumen and Razgrad and the myriad of villages in between.

In addition to this, Mirovets has extremely easy access to the main A2 highway, meaning you can be in Varna - with its airport offering direct flights to London - within an hour or so.
