Description
Our favourite things about the house are relaxing in the pink living room in the evenings, the big bedroom with the bay windows and having a BBQ in the garden on a sunny day.
We've loved living in the area and our son was born here, so we have many happy memories of walking round Walpole Park, visiting the playground in Lammas Park and getting a coffee on the way there from the Italian Deli on Northfields Avenue. The Forester is our favourite spot with their pub garden and Thai lunch menu!
Why we'd buy this home:
This is a home you buy not just because it looks good on paper, but because it feels good in person. The refurbishment has been carried out with a kind of understated class that never shouts, but quietly reassures you that someone has thought about the details properly.
Period charm has been lovingly preserved, so there’s character in the bones, yet it flows with modern ease - a separate lounge for those evenings when you want cosiness, and a kitchen that somehow manages to be both modern and cottagey, with ample space for family meals or dinner parties. Three decent bedrooms, but it’s the principal one that truly steals the show: a sanctuary that manages to feel both indulgent and artistic.
The period architecture gives the house undeniable kerb appeal, the kind that makes you feel a little taller every time you put the key in the door. It’s not just about living well inside; it’s about arriving home with a smile.
And then, of course, there’s the promise beyond the present. With scope to extend into the rear and the loft, this isn’t just a house to move into - it’s a house to grow into. You get the immediate warmth and soul of a finished home, plus the future potential to shape it further, which is a rare and rather valuable combination. It’s that blend of charm, class and possibility that makes the decision feel less like buying a property and more like investing in the kind of life you actually want to live.
Step outside and the appeal deepens. This is Northfields at its best: a tree-lined street that feels calm, neighbourly and reassuringly established, yet just around the corner you’ll find the bustle of delis, coffee houses and restaurants that make daily life not only easy but enjoyable. Parks and green spaces are close at hand, and for families, the outstanding school catchment is the sort of detail that quietly pays dividends for years to come. It’s a location that offers the balance most people search for but rarely find - energy and convenience without sacrificing charm and calm.
