This is what the vendors had to say about their fabulous family home.

What attracted you to the property?

We were attracted by the space the property had to offer and its well thought out layout. The family living space to the rear with the large windows looking out onto the south facing garden was the main pull.

What improvements have you made to the property ?

We have installed plantation shutters throughout the property. We have also added air conditioning in each room which offers both heating and cooling features and operated via remote control or app. This allows the temperature in each room to be independently controlled and is invaluable on very hot or cold days.

We have also added full length electric blinds to the rear south facing windows, providing control of the sunlight allowing us to enjoy the family space even on the brightest of days.

Additionally, we have installed an electric car charging point conveniently and discreetly located to the side of the property.

What have you enjoyed about living there ?

Our favourite part of the house is the family room at the rear, and we spend most of our time together here as a family. We have enjoyed the fact that we can prepare meals and entertain in the same space. The space is always bright and welcoming, even on the gloomiest of days, and really comes into its own in the Summer, as we can see the children playing from the family space. The garden is a lovely size for children and has amazing views over the rear fields. It is not overlooked making it a private space but and without feeling closed in.

Following lockdown, we have especially enjoyed the space the house has to offer, as there is always somewhere to escape to for quiet. The front living room has been very versatile; we have used it as an adults living room when the children were younger and now it is a combined playroom / tv room and gym / workout space.

We have also loved having the dedicated down stairs office which makes working from home feel more professional and is a room we can close off at the weekends, instead of it needing to serve a dual purpose.

We have really enjoyed living in the village. It provides easy access to Paddock Wood (approx. 5 mins by car), Tonbridge (approx. 10 mins) and Tunbridge Wells (approx. 20 mins). The village itself boasts a lovely central green, with cricket pavilion, village hall, ample parking, children's playground (newly renovated) football/basketball court and brand new outdoor gym. There is also an independent gym 1 minute walk away and a One Stop 4 minutes walk. The village also has a well regarded primary school.

Location

The property is situated on the fringes of the village of Five Oak Green in walking distance of local amenities and approximately a mile away from the small town of Paddock Wood with mainline railway station offering services to London.
Five Oak Green has a local shop/post office, a veterinary practice and a primary school. There are stunning country walks nearby and the river Medway and local fishing lakes are close by for water-based activities.
The surrounding villages have an array of shops selling local produce and boast excellent pubs and restaurants.
Paddock Wood offers a good range local amenities including a Waitrose Supermarket, Bank, Building Society, Department Store, Primary and Secondary Schools, Leisure Centre plus mainline rail station offering a 50-minute direct service to London Bridge and onwards to Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
The larger nearby town of Tonbridge has a bustling High Street with an eclectic range of shops and restaurants, a leisure centre and a further mainline station with more services to London. There is a good choice of excellent schools in the area in both the state and private sectors.
The popular towns of Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells are both within easy reach, and the area is well connected by road with the M25 within easy reach via the A21.
