Situation
3 Kirklena is situated in a peaceful and convenient setting in the west of Scotland coastal village of Ardrishaig. Ardrishaig is about 2 miles to the south of Lochgilphead.

The house occupies a prominent setting and from its raised vantage point there are the loveliest views over the Crinan Canal which, in season, features the daily comings and goings of pleasure boating craft and yachts people as they navigate the canal from Ardrishaig to Crinan and vice versa. The views extend down Loch Fyne and stretch to the hill tops of the island of Arran in the southern distance.

As mentioned, Ardrishaig is the southern start of the iconic Crinan Canal, which offers pleasure craft the chance to short cut through from Loch Fyne to the sailing grounds of the Inner Hebrides. It also offers a peaceful walkway and cycle path along a 9-mile stretch of canal water. Various local events are held throughout the year, such as the Ardrishaig gala day. From 3 Kirklena, it is possible to directly access the canal towpath which provides lovely canal side cycling and walking opportunity.

Ardrishaig village offers a range of local shops which cater for everyday requirements and a primary school. There is a regular bus service to and from Glasgow and also a local bus service to and from Lochgilphead.

Lochgilphead is about 2 miles away where there are supermarkets, independent shops, and professional services. There is a primary/high school campus in Lochgilphead, and tertiary education is available through Argyll College. There is a modern hospital and an integrated health centre. A golf course, bowling green, swimming pool and sports centre are also located in Lochgilphead.

For sailing enthusiasts, there are opportunities to moor at the south end of the canal and explore Loch Fyne and the sailing zone of the Firth of Clyde, there are marina and chandlery services at Crinan, Tarbert and Portavadie. At the northern end of the canal is Crinan, from where it is easy to reach the more testing and scenically beautiful sailing waters around the Inner Hebrides. Ardfern and Craobh marinas are approximately 17 and 19 miles respectively to the northwest.

The surrounding countryside offers much in the way of outdoor pursuits, including water sports such as dinghy sailing, paddle boarding, open water swimming and canoeing/kayaking.
