Claybrooke Magna is an attractive village surrounded by scenic countryside with many footpaths and bridleways in close vicinity. The village’s name means ‘brook with clayey soil’. Claybrooke Magna with Claybrooke Parva were listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as being within the wapentake of Guthlaxton, which centuries later was referred to as a hundred.
