Durham County Council offers To Let by informal tender a Kiosk area within the newly redeveloped Bus Station at North Road, Durham City.

Suitable use as a small convenience store selling hot and cold food and drinks. Other uses can be considered subject to planning consent. Use class E applies.

Note however, no sale of alcohol or consumption on the premises.

Location

The Kiosk is situated in the heart of Durham City within a newly developed bus station managed by Durham County Council. Bus services run from this bus station around the city of Durham and surrounding suburbs. Bus services from Durham bus station run as far afield as Newcastle, South Shields, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stanhope, Consett, and the Gateshead Metro Centre shopping complex.

Brief Description of 2nd Fix Works

Install new copper pipe services from existing cold-water supply to water heater and to basin.

Install new waste pipework from sink to nearest waste /drain outlet.

Install thermostatic mixing valve under basin.

Electrical works in connection as below:

Supply and installation of 2 no recessed standard and 2 no recessed emergency LED Light Fittings.

Provision of 100 x 50 PVC trunking system around ceiling perimeter of space to facilitate all wiring and future proofing.

Provision of socket outlets as required for example fridge units.

Provision of Switched Fuse spur to serve Water Heater.

Cabling and testing as required by BS7671.

All works if undertaken by tenant to be approved and supervised by Landlord prior to installation.

Access

No vehicular parking available. Adopted highway fronting the Bus Station restricted to deliveries only.

Planning Use

Use Class E applies (b) Sale of food and drink for consumption (mostly) on the premises. Formerly Class A3 Restaurants and Cafes.

The prospective tenant must make all necessary enquiries with the Council's Planning Division as regards to their proposed use.

Legislation
