Description

Supersized (and close to riverside!) one bedroom ground floor ex-LA flat in a cool tucked-away, quiet, leafy spot near Deptford High Street. Walk just six minutes to Deptford Station (or 15 to Greenwich Station).

Located in Gilbert House, and measuring in at 835 square feet, you have generous proportions throughout and excellent integral storage. Pretty and well-tended grounds including lawned areas further impress.

There is a main secure door then find your own front door at ground floor level. Immediately ahead (from your wide and windowed hall) is your neat and recently-refurbished shower room, with contemporary fixtures and fittings and terrazzo tiles. As throughout, the window here is double-glazed.

Next door to the shower room door is a natural coat closet, and next door to that a large store room which is currently set up as a little home office.

At the top of the hall take a right for your fantastic reception room - it is 20 feet by 11 feet - with a bay window to verdant vistas. Deep green walls feature here. There is loads of room to zone seating and dining areas.

Access your independent eat-in kitchen from the top corner of the reception. This is over 12 feet by nearly 12, with two banks of smart units and open shelf detail, too.

Finally, find your big carpeted bedroom off the hall, which runs over 16 feet by 9 feet. It pleasingly has a double-aspect and a walk-in wardrobe.

The location is strong with this one: you are within a stone's throw (five minutes on foot) of the river, Greenwich (walk 10-15 minutes), and great transport links. Deptford Station is your closest mainline Fare Zone 2 station. Pick up the DLR at Deptford Bridge or Greenwich (where you can also grab the tube).

This area boasts great local galleries, bars, pubs and restaurants. Deptford's also home to St Paul's, Deptford - one of London's finest Baroque parish churches, cited as "one of the most moving C18 churches in London" in the Buildings of England series.

You are just a 15 minute walk from The Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site; comprising Greenwich's town centre, the beautiful Royal Park and the related institutional buildings. The Royal Observatory is a must-go-to, and the views at the top of the park, looking onto The Thames and beyond, are really something. Blackheath sits the other side of Greenwich Park.

The cool bars, restaurants, cafes and markets of Deptford High Street and fairly recently developed Market Yard are all on the doorstep. Check out Jazu, The Waiting Room, Badger Badger, The Watergate, Klose & Soan, SALT and Marcella - all within mere minutes of your door. The Dog & Bell is a lovely old style boozer - a cracking local.

Deptford's leisure centre with its independent modern lane pool is also (no excuses) close, next to the library. Excellent yoga and dance classes and the like can be enjoyed at Trinity Laban.

New Cross, Greenwich, Peckham and Brockley are all close for more social and leisure options.
