We spoke on the other day about getting a cleaner into the first floor rear room after the leak and repair, that is in hand. I also mentioned that the tenant had raised the issue of compensation due to the inconvenience.
In terms of compensation they are asking for £25.00 for a new duvet and £15.00 for a new mattress protector (both ruined by the leak) – total £40.00
They are also asking for compensation of five days rent which is based on the fact that they could not use their room for that period while drying/repairs were happening. This equates to £96.16.
So in total they are asking for £136.16.
