Dodsworth Terrace is situated along Lead Road, which is the main road through Greenside. The village sits just alongside Crawcrook and Ryton and along from High Spen, with easy access from the A695 that links Hexham and Newcastle (7.5 miles to the east). There are some shops and facilities (including schools and nurseries) in Greenside village, with a wider range of amenities in the other neighbouring villages and towns, including Prudhoe, to the west. There are many popular countryside and riverside walks and cycle routes in the area, with both the Tyne and Derwent Valleys providing popular and scenic natural retreats.
