Description

This delightful chalet bungalow is located not far from St Margaret's Bay along a restricted byway private road maintained by the residents that only leads to fields and woodland. It was designed and built by the current owners in 2006 on the footprint of a previous bungalow.

A block paved in and out carriage driveway surrounds a raised front garden area with delightful shrubs and trees and leads to wooden gates that open into a carport and on to the garage. The attractive front façade includes a covered porch leading to the arched front door that opens into a lobby and the spacious entrance hall with a systems control cupboard, an oak staircase, engineered oak flooring that covers most of the ground floor and underfloor heating that flows throughout the property.

There is a family shower room and two dual aspect double bedroom with built in wardrobes including one overlooking the drive that is currently used as a study. The kitchen/breakfast room has stone flooring, units with granite worktops housing various built in appliances, a peninsular breakfast bar with additional storage and a stable door to the courtyard style kitchen garden and barbecue area. There is also a utility room and access to the carport.

The light and bright single storey, dual aspect lounge/diner features a high vaulted ceiling, Velux windows and doors opening onto the beautifully designed and very secluded rear garden and also includes an archway to a charming bar area.

The galleried landing ha storage cupboards and access to two double bedrooms including a guest room with an ensuite shower and the principal suite with far reaching countryside views, bespoke fitted bedroom furniture and an ensuite bathroom.

You can revel in al fresco dining on the spacious rear terrace that continues round to the courtyard area and is bordered by raised brick surround flower beds and leads down to a lawn with a fascinating central feature, a summerhouse, potting shed and a wooden gazebo, while a trellis archway leads to a secluded sunken garden surrounded by hedging.

What the Owner says:

We loved creating this charming home with the aim of building something that was very low maintenance but highly energy efficient and it includes 14 solar panels with back up batteries. The location is wonderful because it is so peaceful with plenty of places to go for walks or to the beach. The village has a post office, shop, surgery, pubs and a bus stop at the end of our road. There are community activities and an Outstanding primary school, while excellent grammar and private schools are available in the nearby towns.
It is not far to Dover and the Channel Tunnel or Martin Mill station for the high speed train to St Pancras and only a short drive to Deal while Canterbury is within easy reach. There are excellent sailing clubs in Walmer and Dover and a variety of first class golf clubs.
