A path flanked by a row of scented lavender leads to the main entrance.



An arched front door opens to the hallway, clad in hand-painted Moroccan tiles, where a glazed partition overlooks the reception area. New wall panelling and oak floors have been introduced throughout the house, providing cohesion and a refined feel.



Designed with meticulous attention to detail by the current owners, the atmospheric interiors mix original period features and contemporary Mediterranean influences. Light fixtures by the likes of Petite Fruiture, Flos, Tom Dixon and Vitra, and new cast-iron radiators by Castrads are found across all floors, alongside bespoke joinery and concealed storage opportunities.



An enfilade of reception rooms occupies this level, where bespoke oak floors in a chevron pattern with integrated underfloor heating run underfoot. On the right side is a double reception room with a sitting area at the front and a lounging space set slightly to the back, both finished in 'Cloth' by Atelier Ellis. A carved marble mantelpiece – reclaimed from a London townhouse – imbues the space with period character and houses a wood-burning stove. A double sash window frames views of the park.



The plan continues toward the rear extension, where glazed doors open to a study area, fitted with an integrated desk and shelving unit. A glass roof and smooth micro-cement flooring create a sense of openness and calm.



Beyond lies a sociable kitchen and dining room, fully dressed in 'Bancha' by Farrow & Ball. Bespoke plywood units by Bath Bespoke are topped with EcoStone work surfaces and fronted by a large island. Appliances are by Bertazzoni, and there is also an integrated water-filtration system. A rooflight ensures excellent illumination throughout the day.



The dining area is warmed by a contemporary, suspended wood burner by Nordpeis, and a bank of floor-to-ceiling glazing slides open to a terraced patio via a flush threshold. Also on this floor is a laundry room, a WC and stairs with access to a basement cellar.



From the hall, stairs ascend to the sleeping quarters on the first and second floors, both fitted with engineered oak flooring. The landing is dressed in Atelier Ellis's ‘Tea and Toast’.



On the first floor, the large principal bedroom is at the front, anchored by tall sash windows overlooking the park. Walls and panelling are painted in 'Joanna' by Little Greene, and a built-in wardrobe runs along one side. A former Victorian fireplace has been painted to match. A second bedroom is on this floor, overlooking the back garden and partially painted in 'Smalt' by Little Greene.



On this floor, a shared bathroom is set within the new extension and fitted with a free-standing bathtub and a walk-in shower by Lusso. Mandarin Stone tiles extend underfoot with underfloor heating, and a handy laundry chute connected to the laundry room has been retained. An expansive L-shaped glass panel stretches up from the floor to the roof, framing views of the surrounding greenery.



On the second floor are two further bedrooms, served by a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a walk-in shower. Each bedroom is decorated with a limited-edition mural by Nathalie Lété.



Outdoor Space



The rear extension opens to a terraced patio, an inviting suntrap conceived to serve as a seating area in the warmer months and paved with Mandarin Stone tiles.



A short flight of steps ascends to a raised lawn, where two century-old olive trees are set within bespoke stone-built planters. Borders on either side ensure private and quiet settings, while established plantings of lavender, aromatic herbs and salvia provide a colourful backdrop across the seasons. At the far end is a storage shed and covered seating section, with additional timber decking and a barbecue area at the front. The front garden is planted with an array of tulips in elegant black and white tones.



From the garden, there is convenient access to a tranquil back lane, with opportunities for off-street parking. Additional parking space is also available at the front.



The Area



Positioned in one of Frome's most desirable areas, Weymouth Road overlooks Victoria Park and is mere minutes away from the town centre and vibrant Catherine Hill. Victoria Park is a wonderful spot for a stroll, and is home to a new community café as well as its own tennis courts.

Frome rail station is a five-minute drive from the house or a 24-minute walk. It runs direct services to London Paddington in just over an hour and a half, while more regular services from nearby Westbury have a slightly shorter journey time. Access to the national motorway network is via the A303 (M3), and Bristol Airport is less than 30 miles away.
