Description
A superb recently constructed energy efficient equestrian barn style residence with expansive manege, stabling and 4.82 acre grounds (stls)
What We Say at The Zoe Napier Group
We have absolutely fallen in love with this stunning home. The spacious, beautifully flowing accommodation has been constructed to the highest specification, with five generous double bedrooms (three en suite) on the first floor, complemented by an additional bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, the property is perfectly suited to multi-generational living, whilst the exceptional equestrian facilities will undoubtedly appeal to the most discerning equine enthusiasts.
What the Owners Say
This property has truly been a labour of love for us. When we started construction, we meticulously planned every last detail and are incredibly proud of the fabulous family home we have created. Having the railway station so close by has provided us with a seamless commute into London or Cambridge, and when we were regularly competing with our horses, it was incredibly convenient to have the A120 and M11 within a five-minute drive away. Sadly, our horses are no longer with us, so we have decided to relocate to a property with less land.
History & Background
This wonderful barn-style residence was constructed three years ago to an exceptional standard and is impressively energy efficient, featuring a heat-recovery system, solar panels, acoustic glazing and an excellent EPC rating of B, whilst the sumptuous specification boasts polished concrete floors, under floor heating and bi fold doors.
The ground floor accommodation comprises vaulted entrance hall, bedroom/study, shower room, magnificent open-plan kitchen/dining/day room and utility room. The first floor offers a superb principal bedroom suite with dressing room and en suite, four further double bedrooms (two with en suites) and a high-specification family bathroom.
Externally, the secluded 4.82 acre grounds (stls) are a particular highlight, incorporating a superb 60m x 25m Charles Britton manege, four loose stables, hay barn, tack room and workshop.
Setting & Location
The property is located on Belmer Road within the highly regarded village of Burton End, which is centred around the much-loved Ash public house – a traditional English pub and restaurant with deep local roots. Renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, hearty British cuisine and fine ales, it serves as a vibrant social hub for both residents and visitors.
The charming market town of Stansted Mountfitchet is just a five-minute drive away and offers an excellent range of shops for day-to-day needs, along with a variety of restaurants and public houses. The town also benefits from junior and senior schools (currently rated Good by Ofsted) and a mainline railway station providing direct services to London Liverpool Street (approximately 45 minutes), Stansted Airport and Cambridge.
The A120 is easily accessible, whilst junction 8 of the M11 is within a five-minute drive at Bishop’s Stortford, which further provides a mainline train station, outstanding shopping facilities, well-regarded schools, and an extensive selection of restaurants and public houses.
Ground Floor Accommodation
Upon entering the property, you are immediately greeted by an impressive, vaulted entrance hall that creates a real sense of grandeur. This striking space is perfectly suited to accommodating an oversized Christmas tree during the festive season and provides access to a contemporary a shower room and sixth bedroom/ study featuring fitted storage cupboards. This wing of the home would be ideal for elderly relatives, teenagers or an au pair.
Situated in the rear elevation is the exceptional kitchen/dining/day room – a truly outstanding, light-filled, dual-aspect space spanning approximately 52 feet in width, featuring a range of high-specification kitchen units with neolith work surfaces, an oversized central breakfast island, and two sets of bi-folding doors that seamlessly flow onto the sun terrace, creating a wonderful outside in environment for entertaining family and friends throughout the summer months.
First Floor Accommodation
An elegant staircase, enhanced by brushed steel bannisters and glass balustrades, curves gracefully to an expansive galleried landing. Positioned within the west wing is the principal bedroom suite, a spacious dual-aspect room enjoying attractive views over the grounds, en suite shower room and extensive range of wardrobes cupboards and drawers.
There are four additional generously proportioned double bedrooms, two of which feature their own en suite facilities, along with a beautifully appointed, high-specification family bathroom.
Grounds & Equestrian Facilities
The property is approached via imposing wooden electric gates that lead to an extensive gravel driveway offering ample off street parking for several vehicles. The extensive grounds extend to 4.82 acres (stls) and are divided into a formal garden area with expansive entertaining sun terrace, attractive extensive topiary feature with a central patio, mostly laid to lawn with mature hedging and trees.
The equestrian facilities are approached via a double opening five bar gate that leads to a further gravel driveway. The stable block is of extremely high quality, constructed by Scotts of Thrapston and are divided into four loose 12 x 13 boxes with liquid rubber flooring, large tack room, hay store and workshop, all with light and power connected. Completing the package is the mightily impressive 60m x 25m Charles Britton manege with sand and fibre surface and sub surface irrigation system.
