Torrozelas is a village belonging to the parish and municipality of Arganil, District of Coimbra, located in the Serra do Açor. It is located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters, bordered by the villages of Aveleira, Monte Redondo, Salgueiro and Folques.[1]

It is very likely that the toponym Torrozelas derives from the Latin word "turris", which meant tower, and its phonetic evolution would have been similar to that of the word Torrozela, which is an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Seia, in the province of Beira Alta.

Arganil is a Portuguese town in the district of Coimbra, in the province of Beira Litoral, Central Region (Beiras Region) and sub-region of Coimbra Region, with about 4,000 inhabitants.

Arganil is situated in a beautiful valley next to two streams of the same name, which flow into the Alva River, above Sarzedo, where there is a stone bridge, built in 1850. It is 60 kilometers east of Coimbra.
