Description

"We love the period features the house has, the big windows and great living space opening onto the garden. The loft conversion master bedroom is also a great place to relax and has a lovely spacious feeling. The area is great, with access to the Bristol-Bath cycle path on our road. There are loads of green spaces around here, and great independent shops, pubs and cafes on Fishponds High Street."

The home

A tastefully designed and stylish four bedroom terraced home, located on Dominion Road in Fishponds. Natural light and contemporary decoration has been at the forefront of the renovation, with excellent results to match. Entrance is into the brightly decorated hallway, with a galley kitchen benefitting from a vaulted ceiling to the rear. At the back of the kitchen is a useful pantry/utility cupboard and side door to the garden. Adjacent to the kitchen is the focal point of the home, the opened living/dining area. The room boasts pops of colour, original fireplace, restored floorboards, bay window, alcove shelving and direct access to the decking area in the garden. Heading to the first floor, there are three bedrooms, two double and one single, along with a striking bathroom suite. Both double bedrooms offer plenty of storage space, and the front room features the second bay window. On the second and final floor, is the impressive loft conversion. There is ample floorspace and natural light resulting from the large dormer, and a second but also striking bathroom.

The outside space

At the front there is a small but green garden, with a pebbled walkway leading to the front door. At the rear the garden begins with a wooden decking, great for entertaining. The gardens aspect is north facing, but gets superb light in the summer months due to the length of the garden. After the decking is an artificial lawn, greenhouse, flower beds and patio seating area. In terms of storage in the garden there is an outbuilding (original bomb shelter) plus a garage at rear with door access to a shared back lane. Modern larger cars are unlikely to fit down the lane however.

Living in Fishponds

Fishponds has seen several cafés established nearby, becoming very popular, such as Mi Cafe Su, The Crafty Egg and FED. The Greyhound Pub is just a short walk away, Snuffy Jacks is a great local micro-pub on the Fishponds Road high street whilst Irish pub The Star, is a well-regarded historic venue, home to live music and the accolade of ‘best pint of Guinness in Bristol’. In terms of green space, there are plenty of options, including Oldbury Court which connects to Snuff Mills. For more immediate greenery, you have playing fields near the Coombe Brook Nature Reserve and Eastville Park. For commuters, Fishponds is very convenient with ease of access to the M32 and M4 motorways, as well as just being a short cycle, drive or bus journey into the city centre or to large areas of employment across North Bristol. The area benefits from several tarmacked cycle paths which provide traffic free routes into the City Centre, or out towards the suburbs, or to Keynsham and Bath via the Bristol to Bath cycle path.
