Situation
Clash-Bheithe Cottage is situated in a wonderfully remote location in the mid highlands of central Scotland. The house sits on an elevated setting just above the minor single-track road (B846) just beyond the hamlet of Killichonan which is about 8 miles west of Kinloch Rannoch and about 32 miles west of Pitlochry. Killichonan is a small hamlet located on the north side of Loch Rannoch. There is a village shop, Post Office, medical centre and primary school in Kinloch Rannoch (8 miles). Pitlochry (32 miles) and Aberfeldy (25 miles) both have supermarkets
and local professional services as well as some popular independent shops and cafés. Aberfeldy’s Birks Cinema and Pitlochry’s Festival Theatre are both very active and central to the local communities.
Clash-Bheithe is ideally located for those who enjoy getting out into the hills and is well placed for accessing some of Perthshire’s most beautiful natural landmarks and towns: Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Kenmore, The Queen’s View, Ben Vrackie and Schiehallion as well as lochs Tummel and Tay to name a few. With so much spectacular countryside on the doorstep there is a variety of outdoor activities to be enjoyed from fishing, swimming and paddle boarding to walking
and birdwatching.
The A9 at Pitlochry provides fast access north and south while trains run regularly from Pitlochry to Edinburgh, London and Inverness. Rannoch Station (9 miles) connects to Inverness, Glasgow and London via the Caledonian Sleeper service. All distances and travel times are approximate.
Travel Directions
From Perth, proceed in a northerly direction on the A9. After Pitlochry turn left onto the B8019 signposted Killiecrankie, Tummel Bridge, Kinloch Rannoch. At the junction, turn right onto the B8019 and continue for about 1.5 miles turning left over the Garry Bridge on the B8019, continue for 10.5 miles to reach Tummel Bridge.
