Location
Middlezoy is a small village situated approximately 8 miles to the East of Bridgwater. It derives its name from "Sowey", a fertile island which the village was before the days of the reclamation of the Somerset Levels which began in the 13th Century.

The village boasts a community run Post Office and Shop, local pub, and historic local church which was used as an encampment by the King's soldiers during the Duke of Monmouth's rebellion which took place in 1685.
