Shire Hall has become one of Congleton's more sought-after locations, and after driving around it, I can see why. You have everything close by with Congleton's centre just a short drive away, offering everything you'll need on a day to day basis, from classic boutique shops, restaurants and cafés, to the wonderful Makers Market where you'll find handmade crafts and gourmet food, all brought to the town once a month. The covered market continues to offer fresh produce, clothing, and much more. There's also a small retail park on the town's edge for essentials.
If all of this isn't enough, Congleton's ideally positioned for commuting as it's within easy reach of Congleton's new road link, whisking you off at the start of wherever it is you need to get to!
As we pull up outside number 14, built just a couple of years ago, you'll notice a lovely block paved pathway sits between two layers of lawn, one of them belongs to your new home, the other acts as a barrier from the road.
A tarmac driveway that's capable of getting two large cars or three smaller ones, leads up to a fence, where a gate opens to reveal the back garden, but we'll come to that later.
Stepping through the front door, we enter into a generously sized hallway. This is kept nice and bright thanks to the frosted window in the front door and the light Herringbone style flooring. Stairs lead to the first floor and two doors lead to the lounge, and the cloakroom.
The cloakroom is much larger than your average three bedroom family home in this price range and has been fitted out with the latest kit. We have a rather snazzy vanity sink unit with chrome mixer tap, and an ultra-modern toilet. A small, but perfectly formed radiator, will help keep the chill off on those cold winter's nights.
The next door in the hallway opens up to the spacious lounge. You'll notice the whole home has been beautifully decorated, and when you walk in here, it's like stepping into the pages of a glossy 'high end' magazine. Large items of furniture seem somewhat dwarfed in here, with space to spread out and enjoy some great movie nights. A large window provides ample light while offering views over the front aspect. A door in here opens into the kitchen / dining room.
Sometimes, when I hear those two words, 'kitchen' and 'dining room' I struggle to see how you could possibly cook and eat in that same space.....but not here, this is something you and friends can do and do so in style too! There's space for a table and chairs where you can entertain until your hearts desired. Or, if it's only casual dining that you're after, then a breakfast bar sticks out as if to separate the dining area from the kitchen. Here you can sip coffee whilst reading the paper before setting off for work.....how 1970's do I sound!!!
While we are still at the dining room end of the kitchen, there are two doors, one that opens to reveal a pantry, and the other is a utility cupboard, with plumbing, power and light. Genius idea, great design!
Moving into the kitchen, the is a stylish assortment of floor and wall mounted storage cupboards, that will house everything you'll need. There's an integrated fridge / freezer, oven with four ring gas hob over, a stainless steel extractor and before you start panicking, yes there is an integrated dishwasher! Worksurfaces cover three walls and provide room for all of those 21st Century gadgets that we cry out for today, as well as space for food prep, or if lacking culinary skills, space to open the takeaways!!! There is skill in that too you know.....
I forgot to mention the patio doors that open out into the garden area, located at the dining room end. This is great if it's nice and warm and you fancy that Al Fresco feel, but hold on, step out into the garden, and you've got a real gem for Al Fresco dining.#
The present owners built a fabulous under cover dining area, with space for a Hot-Tub** too. Here you can sit and admire your garden space no matter what the weather, and the built in outdoor heaters** means you can do this mid-winter, and you'll still feel like you're in Marbella darling! This garden is a sun trap and can be enjoyed all year round. Some shrubs were planted, and so give it another year, your neighbours will be completely obscured.
** are not included in the sale price of the house.
Moving upstairs, we come to a nice bright landing with doors opening to all of the fist floor accommodation. An airing cupboard provides a handy place to store airing stuff, you know we all have plenty of that to hide!
The main bedroom is light and airy thanks to the large window that offers views of the night sky and stars. There's plenty of space for a large bed as well as bedside cabinets, with room for a dressing table and chair as well as a walk in wardrobe, yup that's right, a walk-in-wardrobe....now, you don't see them very often, especially in this price bracket.
Another door in the main bedroom opens up to reveal an the very handy en-suite. Once you've had one of these, you'll never be able to buy a home without one. Another modern stylish suite, beautifully finished off with floor to ceiling tiles, the latest gorgeous vanity sink unit with fitted toilet too. A chrome heated towel rail does just as it says, and a frosted window lets the light flood in and keeps prying eyes out, not that it's that kind of neighbourhood!
The next bedroom along is another large double bedroom, with space for a double bed as we as other free standing pieces of furniture. This room looks out over the rear garden, and the window lets lots of light flood in.
The final bedroom is the smallest, but not the smallest that we usually associate with a three bed semi. There is more than enough room to swing a cat in, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you, do not t try this, after all, you must be sensible, you're buying a house with a mortgage, you're clearly not an idiot! A window with some lovely shutters looks out over the rear garden.
Lastly, we come to the family bathroom. Again, kitted out with the latest modern bathroom ware, there's a panel bath, a vanity sink with toilet, all in a sleek white, with grey contracting units and tiles from floor to ceiling. There's also a glass shower screen protector, with a hand held shower attached to the wall. This bathroom couldn't be better thought out, with a frosted window to allow light in and neighbourhood watch out!
