Description

A wonderfully positioned quintessential Grade II Listed thatched cottage with gardens and grounds approaching 1.2 acres (sts).

Fursey Cottage is a charming Grade II Listed cottage presenting colour washed elevations under a thatched roof line, the property was rethatched six years ago. The accommodation is arranged over three floors extending to some 1,653 sq ft and there is evidence of heavy timber frame throughout.

The accommodation currently comprises entrance hall, sitting room and dining room, both of which have inglenook fireplaces with the sitting room having a gas effect log burner inserted. The dining room has access to both the sunroom and kitchen with the kitchen offering a full range of wall and base units, an integrated dishwasher and fridge, together with space for an oven. From the kitchen a door leads into the bathroom.

From the inner lobby a staircase leads up to a good-sized landing area with access to three bedrooms. From the landing an additional steep staircase leads up to an attic room, which has been used at times as an occasional bedroom.

An internal viewing is highly recommended to appreciate the accommodation on offer.

OUTSIDE

Fursey Cottage is approached initially over a hard standing shared drive, which in turn gives access to a private graveled driveway with parking for several cars. The pretty cottage gardens at Fursey Cottage are a tremendous feature, extending to approximately 1.2 acres and feature a pond, mature shrubs and trees, and an array of roses. There is also a summer house, shed and a pergola and the gardens and grounds offer a high degree of privacy. At the rear of the property is a seating area ideal for barbecues and alfresco dining. The rear garden also gives wonderful views over the open countryside beyond.

LOCATION

Fursey Cottage is located on the outskirts of the village of Battisford. Battisford is a village within mid Suffolk with a village green, community centre, parish church and village pub. Battisford is easily accessible to both Stowmarket and Needham Market (6 & 3 miles respectively) both of which provide a full range of local shopping and commercial facilities as well as access to main line rail services which run to London Liverpool Street Station in about 80/85 minutes approx.
