The municipality of Trabada, located in the northeast of the province of Lugo, in the autonomous community of Galicia, comprises a total of eight parishes and is situated in the A Mariña Oriental region. One of these eight parishes is Nuestra Señora da Ría de Abres, which borders Valboa to the north, Sante and the Principality of Asturias to the south, Asturias to the east, and Sante and Valboa again to the west. Inland, the Ría de Abres area has a population of approximately 230 inhabitants, distributed across 11 settlements: Acebedo, Boca de Canle, Casanova e Pacios, Follaval, Leirado, Pedrido, Rabexa, Rielo, San Martiño, Veiga, and Vilafernando.
