Description
Tanyard Court is an over 55's retirement apartment complex, situated in the centre of Woodbridge, a short distance from the town centre, River Deben and train station. There are many amenities nearby including an independent cinema, Deben Leisure Centre and a wealth of fantastic coffee houses, pubs and restaurants.
Apartment 1 has the benefit of its own entrance and stairwell, complete with a stairlift leading to the first floor. The current owner replaced the double glazed windows throughout as well as the contemporary fitted kitchen, shower room and fitted wardrobes in the main bedroom.
The apartment opens into a hall with an airing cupboard as well as built-in storage. Doors lead off to all rooms.
The L shaped sitting/dining room overlooks Station Road and is of generous proportions, due to an additional area above the stairwell. A sliding door leads to the kitchen, which has been refitted with a range of base and eye level units, work surfaces and sink. Integrated appliances include a Bosch oven & microwave, hob with extractor over, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. In addition, there is a Bosch washer dryer which is to remain.
Across the hall are two bedrooms, one of which is a double and has a number of Hammond built-in wardrobes and it overlooks the communal grounds. Adjacent is the shower room which under-floor heating and has been refitted with a double walk-in shower with glass screen, basin with vanity unit, WC and heated towel rail.
Location
Woodbridge has extensive facilities for its size, including a wide selection of independent shops and boutiques trading alongside the national names. The Thoroughfare is the main shopping street with more specialist retail outlets found grouped around the historic Shire Hall on the Market Hill. The town has medical facilities, banks, financial services, a cinema, swimming pool and library as well as a railway station with services running to Ipswich, Suffolk's county town, where regular connections run to London's Liverpool Street station.
There are very good opportunities to play sport in the surrounding district with challenging golf courses both inland and on the coast, whilst the tidal river Deben, Alde and Orwell are noted by those who sail.
The coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, and further north at Southwold, are all within comfortable travelling distance, as is the proximity of Snape Maltings Concert Hall, home to the internationally famous Aldeburgh Festival, which is a further attraction of the area.
