All the windows and doors are aluminum framed, the windows are sliding, and double glazed, with aluminum shutters. There is split AC in each division of the house, except for the bathrooms.

Vila de Rei is known for its unique status as the geodesic center of Portugal, the geographical location equidistant from the northern, southern, eastern and western points of the country. The geodesic mark can be seen from the terrace of the house.
Vila de Rei is a medium sized town with a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, schools, health centers, sports centers, museums, pharmacies, banks, post office and parks. It is 15 minutes by car to the larger towns of Sertã and Ferreria do Zêzere, with all the facilities of larger towns, including weekly markets.

There are a good number of river beaches in the area, and many walking trails.

The closest airport is situated at Lisbon, which is just a little less than two hours by car, driving on fast roads.
