Description
Description
1 Easthill Farm sits on an attractive steading development comprising six houses, one of which is the original farmhouse. The house is a bespoke design by Allan Corfield Architects, completed in 2013/14, with living areas that are specifically orientated to make the most of the panoramic views to the north and south. Its exceptionally strong eco-credentials resulted in it being shortlisted for Homebuilding and Renovating magazine’s 'Eco House of the Year for 2014'.
The house is constructed of Structurally Insulated Panels, clad with Siberian larch, under a Welsh slate roof, and an independent garden room was recently added. It has exceptional eco-friendly credentials thanks to its Daikin air-source heat pump, triple glazing, solar PV panels and rainwater harvesting system. There are also Paul Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery and integrated speaker systems.
The house’s living space is centred on a double-height atrium from which the views are outstanding, and a bespoke cantilevered staircase with glass balustrades and open timber treads. The ground floor of this central space is used as a reception hall, but could be a dining area. Double doors open into the sitting / dining room which overlooks the garden. The superb, open-plan kitchen and family room also has garden doors leading onto the patio. It has an island with breakfast bar, quartz worktops, a walk-in larder, Welsh slate flooring, and integrated Neff appliances including double oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee machine as well as Hotpoint double fridge drawers. Beyond is a utility room with separate WC, Bosch tumble dryer and washing machine, and a door leading into the integral garage, above which there is a useful store room. The study/bedroom 5 with adjacent wet room, cloak cupboard, and plant room are also all located off the central atrium.
The principal bedroom suite has a double height vaulted ceiling, and stunning southerly views towards Auchterarder, with the backdrop of the Ochil Hills. It also features full-length wardrobes with sliding doors, and an en suite bathroom with both bath and shower. There are three further double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes and one with an en suite shower room and dressing area. There is also a family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle.
A recently installed garden room sits to the south of the house overlooking the garden and patio with bi-folding glass doors on two sides. It has a Hot Spring hot tub, but could be used as a home office if preferred. The patio is accessed from the kitchen and has lovely southerly views. To the front of the house is a spacious parking area, and access into the integral double garage.
