Description
Find your new home in an end of terrace position on a tree-lined residential East Dulwich street which rolls down to Peckham Rye Park and Common's glorious 113 acres. Dulwich Park is also close, in the other direction. The town centres of East Dulwich, Peckham, Honor Oak and Nunhead are all easily walkable (West Dulwich Station is also good into Victoria: walk 25mins across Dulwich Park or jump on a P13 bus), and you are an under-10-minute walk from useful local shops, cafes and pubs on both Barry Road and Forest Hill Road. Parking is unrestricted on the street, and there is always plenty in our experience.
You have a shared hall with just one other flat. Through your own front door and take the stairs up to the landing area. Head to the back of the flat for your independent kitchen with recessed lighting and fitted units, and where French doors open onto your sunny little terrace. Pretty, leafy suburban vistas are enjoyed here.
Next door is the windowed bathroom, with a modern white suite and over-bath shower, and large profile tiles.
Next you have your single bedroom - of over 7 feet each way. It works equally well as a home office, nursery, dressing or hobby room.
Up a few stairs and your principal bedroom is set to your right. This is over 9 feet by over 11 feet and has a built-in wardrobe.
Then across the front of the building you have your roomy, bright and airy reception - this is over 11 feet by nearly 15 feet, with pale carpet, two double-glazed sash windows, a feature fireplace, and built-in shelving plus a cupboard to one alcove. Pleasingly there is ample space to zone separate seating and dining areas.
For stations, you have got three to choose from in easy-walking distance: Honor Oak Park (Fare Zone 3), East Dulwich and Peckham Rye (both 2). Day and night bus routes are also at your feet, from Peckham Rye.
We've mentioned Peckham Rye Park and Common; there are loads of gorgeous green spaces to call your local ones - Horniman Gardens, Goose Green and One Tree Hill are just three examples.
In addition to the handy run of shops on Forest Hill Road and Barry Road, enjoy those on Lordship and Rye Lanes, as well as those of Honor Oak and Nunhead centres. North Cross Road's Saturday market is also local.
Our favourite nearby cafes are Cafe G (on the corner of The Gardens), and Cafe On The Rye. For social meets, Watson's General Telegraph and The Herne Tavern are your closest lovely pubs, in handsome Victorian buildings and with big outside spaces.
Bellenden Road also isn't far for top restaurants including Artusi, Ganapati and The Begging Bowl. Other great dining options in SE15 include Levan, Banh Banh, Mr Bao, Hausu and Peckham Bazaar. Nonna Maria and Babur in the Honor Oak area are also highly recommended.
East Dulwich leisure centre is a short stroll away, or you can 'sign up' for British Military Fitness workouts on Peckham Rye or join the popular Saturday 9am Parkrun.
