Being at the quiet end of a no-through road means very little traffic, our children have learnt to ride their bikes here and we’ve had lovely summer street parties with our friendly, helpful and supportive neighbours (available at the drop of a hat via the Street Whatsapp group!). A quick walk down to either of the train stations means we have explored London, headed to the coast or set off from Gatwick Airport. Closer to home, we like an easy stroll down to Grumpy Goose for coffee and pastries and the friendly folk at Waitrose, short walk on the footpaths to school or the golf course, tree climbing in the woods at Farthing Down, Oaks Park and Banstead Woods. With lots going on in the community, pilates for me at St Andrews Church, Cubs and Beavers for the children as well as martial arts and drama. It is a great house for parties - we’ve had 30 kids charging around the garden, and a larger number of adults celebrating milestone birthdays! Plenty of spots to soak up the evening sun in the garden and still room for the trampoline. At Christmas time the houses at the top end of the road make an effort with lights, with a street switch on - that comes on the back of a fun and friendly night of trick or treating for the children at Halloween!
