Great Fencote is pretty a hamlet which lies approximately 2 miles from the A1/M1 and 0.5 miles from the larger village of Kirby Fleetham.
Kirby Fleetham has a primary school, an excellent pub and Bed and Breakfast called The Black Horse and a local post office/shop.
Both villages are well connected with easy access to the A1/M1. Northallerton is approximately 8 miles away and has a secondary school and an extensive amount shops, restaurants and bars and sports facilities. A high speed train from Northallerton Train Station runs daily between London and Edinburgh.
