The kitchen is a marvellous space, with handsome cabinets and rich pink travertine countertops. Appliances include an induction hob with integrated extractor, a wine fridge and two ovens by makers including Bertazzoni. An island doubles as a relaxed dining spot, and there is a wonderful window seat set beneath a tall tripartite window.



There are three generous bedrooms on the home’s lower level. The principal has soothing walls in Dorset Cream by Farrow and Ball, French doors to the garden, and a built-in wardrobe with fabric-backed glass panels; behind lies a vintage-inspired en suite with a contemporary take on chequerboard tiles.



Colour continues in the other bedrooms, which also have built-in storage; all three are grounded with herringbone-laid floors. A separate bathroom is elegantly finished with white and blue tiles and fixtures from Lusso Stone.



The Great Outdoors



The garden has been cleverly conceived and extends from the main bedroom. It is mostly gravel laid, with ferns and climbing jasmine and roses around its periphery. There is plenty of room for outdoor seating here, on top of limestone cobble-laid tiles.



Out and About



Avenue Road is close to some of London’s most celebrated green spaces. It gives direct access to The Parkland Walk, while Hampstead Heath, Waterlow Park, Highgate Wood and Queen’s Wood are all nearby.



A short walk away, Highgate Village has well-loved shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, including The Flask and Greens of Highgate. The Grocery Post on Archway Road serves good coffee and sells excellent provisions, while Max’s on Crouch Hill sells popular sandwiches. Finsbury Park and Crouch End provide an additional offering of places to eat; both also have cinemas showing arthouse films and blockbusters alike.



There are excellent schools in the area, including Highgate School, Highgate Primary School, St Michael’s Primary School and Channing. The house is a short walk from Highgate Station (Northern line). There are also excellent bus routes locally, providing direct transport to the City and central London, or Hampstead, Kenwood House and Finsbury Park.
