Location:
St George’s Manor lies on the border of Littlemore and the village of Sandford-on-Thames, located about 2.5 miles southeast of the city centre,. It has its own distinctive character and strong sense of community, superbly located for everything from one of the UK's most innovative science and technology parks to Oxford's vibrant city culture. A short walk from the property is Littlemore Nature Reserve and the River Thames, ideal for walking, wildlife and stand-up paddle-boarding. Locally, there are welcoming pubs such as The Golden Ball, George Inn, and the riverside King's Arms, as well as great spots to eat and relax at The Talking Shop café and the Voco Oxford Thames Hotel. For family entertainment, the Ozone Leisure Park is approximately a 15-minute walk away and offers bowling, cinema, a gymnasium and the Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United F.C. A Sainsbury’s supermarket is less than a 10-minute walk away, with smaller local shops within 5 minutes, along with a Health Centre and Post Office.
You will find a selection of nurseries a few minutes away and primary schools including Emmanuel Christian School and John Henry Newman Academy all close by, with St Swithun’s and St John Fisher just a little further away. For secondary education, Greyfriars Catholic School and Oxford Spires Academy are circa 3 miles away, with independent options such as Magdalen College School and the renowned Oxford Universities closer to the City of Oxford.
There is a bus stop located directly outside the main gates of the development providing frequent services into Oxford city centre and surrounding areas, and a Park & Ride into the City centre is within 2 miles. Road links via the A4074, A34 and Ring Road make commuting straightforward, with rail connections available at Oxford for travel to London Marylebone (with Bicester Village en route), London Paddington, Birmingham or towards the Cotswolds
In The Owners Own Words:
We purchased the property because it felt unique compared with other apartments, particularly due to how quiet and peaceful the setting is and the beautifully landscaped grounds surrounding the development.
It is a spacious two-floor maisonette with high ceilings and large windows, making it very bright and airy. The layout works particularly well, with two generously sized double bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms also features a raised mezzanine bed space, which makes excellent use of the ceiling height. The master bedroom also benefits from a walk-in wardrobe.
A standout feature is that the property forms part of a turret with an octagonal shape, giving it a distinctive character and providing 360-degree views over the landscaped grounds. Despite being part of a larger building, the living spaces do not share walls with neighbouring properties, so it feels almost detached and remains extremely quiet with virtually no noise from neighbours.
The property has hardwood maple flooring throughout and benefits from a large personal external storage room just outside the front door, ideal for bikes or additional storage. There is also allocated parking and access to the large shared gardens.
