Description
Set behind electric gates on one of Hove Park’s most sought-after roads, this substantial five bedroom, three bathroom detached home has been refurbished throughout and offers generous living space, a large private driveway, and far-reaching views down to the sea.
The approach is striking. As you enter through the gates, you’re welcomed by a wide frontage, an expansive driveway, and a double garage with plenty of room for storage. There’s a front terrace too, ideal for your morning coffee or to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Inside, the ground floor flows beautifully with a modern, fully integrated kitchen finished with Italian granite worktops and underfloor heating. This space enjoys a lovely outlook over Hove Park and beyond. The main living area opens out to the garden via sleek bi-folding doors and includes a log-burning stove for the colder months. There’s also a separate dining area, perfect for family meals or entertaining guests.
Upstairs, the first floor offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom is positioned at the back of the house and comes with fitted wardrobes and a contemporary en-suite featuring a jacuzzi bath. A stylish wet room serves the two further double bedrooms on this level. The top floor has been converted and provides two more spacious bedrooms and another bathroom. Both rooms enjoy views across the mature, landscaped gardens.
The garden has been cleverly designed across three tiers. There’s a sunny terrace for barbecues and relaxing, with two further levels laid to lawn — ideal for children to enjoy. At the top of the garden is a water spa and seating area with a direct view down to the sea. A separate outbuilding sits at the rear, perfect for a home office or children’s den.
The property also has approved planning permission for a separate rear annexe and a double-height atrium to the front. (Planning ref: BH2023/01342)
Hill Drive is widely regarded as one of the best addresses in Hove. From here you’re moments from Hove Park, within easy reach of both Preston Park and Hove stations, and close to some of the area’s most popular schools. The A23 and A27 are also nearby, making commuting in or out of town easy.
This is a substantial and beautifully finished home in a prime location, ready for the next family to move in and enjoy.
What the owner says......
We’ve loved living in this family home, set on extensive grounds in a prime Hove location. It hasn’t been extended, which means there’s huge potential for the next owners—including existing planning permission for a rear annexe. The electric gates open onto a sweeping drive, one of our favourite features; it’s vast, sets the house well back from the road, and gives the whole place a majestic yet wonderfully secluded feel.
The rear garden has its own charm, with each tier offering something different. The top level has been the heart of our entertaining over the years, with friends splashing in and out of the fountain and the summer house doubling as a bar—complete with its own loo.
Inside, the house has been the perfect environment for raising a family. We’ve enjoyed every minute of watching the kids grow up here. They have the entire upstairs to themselves while we enjoy the main suite at the rear, though the layout is flexible enough to swap floors if you prefer. The open kitchen and lounge area is ideal for dining and hosting, and the log burner has been a fantastic addition in winter.
It’s a special home—warm, inviting, easy to maintain, and above all, a genuinely great place to live.
