Description

"We moved to Newbridge Road in 2017 and quickly fell in love with both the house and the area. Over the years, we’ve enjoyed restoring its character and making it a warm, welcoming home. One of our favourite parts has always been the garden. In the summer, it becomes the perfect place to host, cooking outdoors, watching the sunset and hot air balloons over the city. At the same time, it’s been just as special in the quieter moments, starting the day with a coffee or picking fresh fruit for breakfast. From the very beginning, we felt the strong sense of community here. It’s been lovely to see St Anne’s grow over the years, with places like Bristol’s Community Sauna, Lost and Grounded, The Langton and Catley’s becoming part of everyday life. What we’ve valued most is the balance this home offers, the outdoor space, while still being only a short cycle into the city. It really has given us the best of both, city life and moments to slow down."

The home

A warm, charming and characterful three bedroom Victorian terrace with a loft conversion and large garden. Downstairs there is an open plan living space featuring a bay window, decorative fireplace and wooden floorboards in the dining room. At the rear is the contemporary kitchen with a tiled floor and separate utility room, what you’ll find in this house is there is plenty of space and storage with the lean too and pantry underneath the stairs. Heading up we have the traditional master bedroom at the front of the house followed by a good-sized double bedroom which is currently being used as an office, at the rear there is a gorgeous bathroom with a walk-in shower and freestanding bath. On the final floor we have the dormer loft-conversion with an en-suite shower room which the current owners added in there time here.

Outside space

It’s rare to have a garden of this size in Victorian home and it’s an inner city gem, there are various sections to the garden starting with an initial patio and seating area, followed by a grass lawn which leads up to the raised vegetable garden. The back of the garden is where you’ll be soaking in the sun and is a great space to relax with friends and family while having the BBQ on the go, beyond this there is a greenhouse and shed for storage. There is also rear access to the garden via a lane.

Living in St Annes

Newbridge Road is in the heart of St Annes, a popular area with green open spaces, woodland walks and access to the river - all within a stones’ throw of the city. It is ideally situated a short walk from Sandy Park high street as well as Church Road in St George, with amenities including Sandy Park Deli, Greengrocers, bakeries, cafes and many other shops and restaurants. It has the wonderful Nightingale Valley, St Annes woods, and St Annes park nearby all perfect for walks. One of Bristol’s top breweries and taprooms, Lost and Grounded, is located at the bottom of the road, Rocket Padel and St Annes Community Sauna across the road and finally excellent local pub, the Langton, is just around the corner. The area benefits from easy access to the river, whether walking to Eastwood Farm and Beeses, towards Keynsham via riverside pubs, or for those looking for more active pastimes like rowing or river swimming. Newbridge Road is a perfect home for those seeking a little more green space, but with easy access to the city.
