Built in 2009, the customs specialized warehouse terminal (heated warehouse with freezers) for the processing of perishable products (perishables), such as medicine, flowers, food products, etc., for air cargo transportation consists of:
- four-storey office building with an area of 2500 sq.m.;
- warehouse area of 2000 sq.m. fully equipped for handling and reloading cargo of any type;
- a large protected area in the open air with an area of 4000 m2 for handling and storage of goods;
- two car parking areas.
The terminal has the status of an operating customs warehouse and is located on the customs territory with a total area of 10,100 m2. In addition, the terminal itself is located in close proximity to the parking of cargo aircraft - 100 m and the runway - 300 m.
The land plot is the property of SJSC "Riga International Airport". A long-term lease agreement has been signed.
The transshipment capacity is up to 100,000 tons per year, and currently it is the only enterprise of its kind in Latvia and in all the Baltic countries.
The building is located 300 meters from the runway of the airport "Riga", in the customs territory, and is equipped with appropriate cooling equipment, equipment for x-ray control, as well as equipment for vacuum cooling.
