Across a dirt road, we find an entrance with an automatic and a manual gate, which leads us to this exceptional and inspiring retreat, where we encounter a meticulously maintained Alentejo-style house. This house features an open-plan kitchen with an entrance hall, which evokes times past with its flagstone floor and terracotta tiles. The kitchen countertop has been lightly stained with a natural pigment, and its pores have been carefully treated with a natural formula, offering a silky, water-repellent finish that is stain-resistant and antiseptic. The wall covering between the countertop and the cabinets has been revitalized with authentic Moroccan tiles, characterized by their imperfection.
The living room, bedroom, bathroom with bathtub, and suite with shower stall all maintain the Alentejo style with their properly treated chestnut wood roof. The walls with traditional plaster create a smooth, curved transition between the wall and the floor, reflecting light and enhancing visual comfort and spatial continuity, giving these rooms an authenticity that is predominant in the region.
All the floors are made of terracotta tiles and antique slate, offering a tangible connection to this deep historical lineage, providing a sense of privilege and refined good taste through their authenticity and timeless charm.
The completely private land is full of fruit trees (figs, peaches, lemons, quinces, persimmons, pomegranates), and includes two caravans that can accommodate 6 people, allowing for extended overnight stays on the property.
A centuries-old tank, converted into a swimming pool, serves as a reservoir to store the constant flow of water from the mine that supplies the house.
A wood-fired jacuzzi has been built on one of the property's terraces, so that on both cold and hot days one can relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape offered by the stunning views of the property.
