Located on one of the most prestigious avenues in the city of Porto, Namibia House stands out as an exemplary contemporary renovation, completed in 2015. Starting from a pre-existing structure marked by traditional volumetry, the project reinterpreted the dwelling through a refined architectural language, emphasizing natural light, spatial fluidity, and a strong connection with the outdoors.

The four-bedroom villa features a dynamic volumetry, with an asymmetrical pitched roof and large glazed surfaces that dissolve the boundary between interior and garden. This openness to the exterior reveals one of the home’s most striking elements: a sculptural staircase with a gentle curve, visible through wide openings, establishing itself as the central piece of the social area.

Inside, the house adopts an elegant minimalism, where white walls, continuous lines, and recessed lighting enhance the sense of spaciousness. The use of natural materials — such as solid wood flooring and built-in wooden shelving — introduces visual comfort and balance. Large openings act as “frames” to the outside, allowing light to flow through all spaces throughout the day.

The ground floor is organized into generous social areas with direct access to the garden, while the upper floor accommodates the bedrooms, benefiting from the roof geometry and expansive views. Some spaces include balconies or large windows, preserving both privacy and brightness.

The exterior features a carefully structured contemporary garden, composed of wooden decks, white pebble areas, and green spaces. High walls ensure complete privacy, and the continuity of materials between interior and exterior reinforces the architectural identity of the whole.
