If you need a house with rooms, there's a potential annex for a young teen or elderly relative who want their independence but still needs a watchful eye, a fabulous kitchen / dining room, four generous bedrooms upstairs, a stylish bathroom, an en-suite or cloakroom downstairs depending on how you configure the home, double garage, front rear and side garden and ample parking and all at a price you can afford, especially when you look at what you are getting.....then keep reading

There is no doubt about it, having a Mynydd Isa address brings with it a certain cache, it's the difference between living in Park Lane and Brixton! There's a certain type of person who lives here and it's a very friendly place to live, too.

Living in a suburb is the life goal of many of our countrymen, and there are those to whom it will always be a village. What sets it apart from other local areas is sheer convenience.

How many examples of suburbia can you think of with a comprehensive selection of shops in its midst? Or a selection of highly regarded schools? And for those rare occasions when requirements cannot be met locally, a choice of buses to speed you to Mold or Buckley? In fact, it soon becomes obvious that should the suburban life be for you, moving here is something of a no-brainer, so what is on offer?

Well, how about a four bedroom versatile family home that in its present configuration can include an additional ground floor fifth bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. Now this could be perfect for an elderly relative? If that sounds promising, read on.

Just off Chambers Lane, one of the main thoroughfares through Mynydd Isa, we find this charming and immaculate home. Sitting on a corner plot gives the advantage of a large double garage, the drive to which opens onto the adjacent road. When I say it's a large garage, I mean it is large enough to have an extra room set to one side and which presently sees use as a home gymnasium, although you needn't panic, it's just as much use for less painful and masochistic pastimes.

A paved courtyard joins the side of the garage to the rear of the home and which, surrounded by thick hedges, gives a pleasing level of privacy, all too rare in so built up an environment.

Approaching the front of the home via a pedestrian gate there is a spookily perfect looking front garden, until I realised the grass was artificial. I have never been a fan of this but as I grow older and the appeal of moving the damn stuff fades, I am starting to notice how good it looks, and how easy it is to keep looking that good... alright I admit it, I'm converted.

On the other side of the path is a tall hedge separating this from the private side lawn which runs around to the paved area to the rear, from where we gain access to the garage.
Opening the white UPVC semi glazed front door we enter the inner hall, you'll notice the attractive and eminently practical ceramic floor, which continues into the kitchen at the rear.

Immediately to our left is the door into the ground floor bedroom, which is well lit and pleasantly spacious, helped in this regard by not having to house any free standing wardrobes. That is not to say there are none, for a huge fitted example is to be found in the adjacent dressing room through a door to the rear, along with a large chest of drawers. Light in here comes from a set of patio doors opening onto the rear courtyard and, helping with the sense that we are in a self-contained annexe there is also a washing machine.

Another door on the inner wall reveals the en-suite, which is tiled throughout white and contains a wall mounted hand basin, lavatory and a walk-in shower cubicle. If we treat this as an annexe, it would be ideal for an older relative or even a youngster wanting the feeling of independence while remaining under the watchful parental eye before finally flying the nest.

Moving back into the hall and past the stairs, it brings us to the lounge with its attractive dark 'wood' flooring. This is a well illuminated room thanks to the front facing picture window and has a welcoming and cosy feel to it. There is an attractive hearth with a gas powered 'log burner' it contains. In my opinion these are a godsend; giving instant heat with all the charm of the real thing but with none of the effort or mess....

On the inner wall, a pair of doors open into one end of the kitchen / dining room, with the other entrance being from the top of the hall.

The kitchen is divided into two by a centrally positioned island leaving one social section with fitted units for storage and general ,prep and the other for culinary section where the magic occurs, an arrangement that seems to work very well and never leaves the chef lonely. The culinary side is very well equipped and with the close proximity of the island, you are never at a loss for work top space. To the rear, the back door emerges onto the courtyard, opposite the garage for easy access to the bins and recycling.

Moving upstairs the first bedroom appears on our left, set into the gable end of the home and with the sloping ceilings caused by the pitch of the roof, though this is never an issue as headroom remains generous and a series of fitted wardrobes ensures plentiful storage space.

Next door to here is the delightful family bathroom. Obviously recently refitted, this is tiled throughout and features a modern unitary lavatory/hand basin/storage unit where for once the hand basin is of a sensible size, meaning people bigger than Barbie can actually have a wash. The bath is fitted with a protective glass side screen to hopefully prevent overspill caused by over-enthusiastic use of the twin headed rain shower above, and means less work for parents with small children at bath time. In theory anyway....

Adjacent to here is the second bedroom. This is another comfortably proportioned double room where floor space is saved by the corner positioned fitted cupboard that provides additional hanging room.

Moving to the front of the home is where we find the smallest bedroom which, like so many of its type is strictly a single. That having been said, for a small child it would be seen as palatial while even a young adult would not find too much to complain about. The current owners work from home and have found it an ideal location for a well fitted out home office, so maybe you could put the kids to work....

Finally, we come to the principal bedroom, where even Imelda Marcos could lose a few of her shoes in the bank of fitted wardrobes. These leave enough room for additional free standing furniture should you feel the need, though I suspect this would prove unnecessary. The room is bright and cheerful thanks to the large window and provides a fitting finale to our tour of a characterful, flexible and adaptable home.

All in all if Mynydd Isa is where you want to be, and there are many who would not thank you for anywhere else, you need at least four bedrooms and perhaps have an elderly relative becoming less able to live alone or maybe a young adult craving independence (or just getting under your feet) leaving you needing a flexible and adaptable space but are unwilling to sacrifice character and individuality..... give Berry and George a call today, it'll be the best thing you do all day...unless you're a film star, racing driver etc, in which case, it'll be the 2nd best thing you do!

Berry and George are here to help you throughout the buying and selling process, nothing is too small for us to help you with - please feel free to call us to discuss anything with regards to buying or selling.

About Berry and George, Mold

16-18 Chester Street, Mold, CH7 1EG

Berry and George is a family business, after my two children, Hallie (Berry) and Steve....only kidding, he's called George! I started this business to make a difference after I was totally let down by a local agent when my father was terminally ill. You can verify this, just check out our fabulous reviews, you'll see this is all backed up by our many 5 Star Google Reviews, the highest for any agent in Flintshire.

Having been through the house buying process many times in my life, I understand first hand from your side how stressful a time it can be, that's why we aim to not only provide an exceptional marketing package, but also an excellent tailored service to ensure we can make your move as comfortable as we can.

We work alongside some excellent partners who can help in the process, such as an independent mortgage broker service and independent local solicitors, so whatever help you need, we are here to help you.

We charge a set fee with no hidden extras and are quite unique in that we are open for you 7 days a week and have no contract to tie you in, Berry and George is like no other Estate Agent.
