Meganisi is a small green Ionian island nestling alongside southeast of Lefkada one and a half mile from the well known island of Skorpios which belongs to the Municipality of Meganisi.Set in some of the most transparent water anywhere of the Mediterranean has always been known as the island of sailors.Its geographical location with the calm waters make it a must stop for any yacht sailing in the Ionian Sea. It extends over an area of 22 sq.Km and has a coast line of 46 Km.That makes it the largest of the island complex located southeast of Lefkada called Prigiponisia .(Other islands are Skorpios,Skorpidi,Sparti,Madouri,Thilia,Kythros etc).
