Description

A substantial & striking detached family house offering accommodation over 4800 sq ft, with a superb leisure complex, studio and views over some 1¾ acres of well screened gardens & grounds.

Description

Old Cannon House is a sizeable family home that has evolved considerably over time. Under our clients' ownership the house has been further extended and reconfigured, the swimming pool/leisure complex has been installed, a sizeable studio with further garaging and storage has been created, in addition to the carport and parking for numerous vehicles. Much effort has gone into attractive landscaping around the house to create a stylish and cohesive finish to this wonderful sum of parts.

The House: On entering, the reception hall leads to the rear of the house, where the kitchen is accessed via the utility room, the kitchen has attractive wall and base cabinetry providing good storage, with a range of integrated appliances and space for a range style cooker. The kitchen/breakfast room opens onto the impressive garden room, creating a highly sociable layout, with French doors opening to the terrace and gardens beyond, bringing the outside, inside. A formal dining room also enjoys the view over the terrace and gardens through a large picture window and a large and inviting front-to-back family room offers further entertaining and relaxation space with bi-fold doors opening on the terrace and gardens. A WC completes the ground floor at this end of the house.

To the other end of the ground floor is a large, light-filled suite that has its own private entrance, but can also be accessed via the family room. There is a sitting room with eye-catching feature fireplace with electric firebox, bi-fold doors giving access to the terrace and gardens beyond, a bedroom, large walk-in wardrobe and beautifully appointed bathroom. Perfect for those that need ground floor living, a fabulous space for teens, "bounce-back children" wanting an independent feel, au pair, carer or multi-generational living.

The first floor is home to five bedrooms, all of which are orientated to enjoy the delightful, elevated views over the gardens. The principal bedroom suite is found to one end of the house with attractive vaulted ceilings, dressing area and stylish ensuite shower room. There are four further double bedrooms on the first floor together with two separate bathrooms. All of the bedrooms benefit from their own direct access to the balcony that spans the back of the house, with glass balustrades ensuring an uninterrupted outlook.

Leisure Complex: Our clients have enclosed the swimming pool with a retractable, all-weather cover that allows for use of the pool all year long, with large terrace that provides ample space for loungers, table and seating. The pool house is a superb addition with gym, shower room, changing room/store and entertaining space with kitchenette/bar area and French doors opening onto a generous decked terrace.

Garage and Studio: Sat above a two bay garage and garden store is the light filled studio with its impressive feature window, the studio is perfect for today's working from home needs, but offers numerous uses subject to individual wishes. The studio can be accessed via stairs or lift; there is a separate WC and a utility/store room.

Outside: Old Cannon enjoys a very generous plot approaching 1¾ acres, enjoying a high degree of privacy. The sunny south-east facing gardens are ideal for child's play and outdoor entertaining on a large scale.

There are two entrances to Old Cannon House, the first entrance is ideal if a family member is using the ground floor suite and needs parking close to the house, with carport/store. The further entrance and driveway leads to a large area of parking in front of the garage for numerous vehicles.
