The fattoria was formerly run on behalf of the family resident in the villa. When the villa was subsequently converted to a hotel, the products were used in the kitchen of the restaurant that is still widely famous for the quality of its ingredients. In the past, Prati Piani produced honey, wine and cheese. Cattle were raised and trout were bred in a basin in the little river in front of the villa. The hayloft of 10 by 12 metres is being rebuilt and has been converted for group/corporate activities e.g. training courses and workshops.
Prati Piani is located in the province of Imperia in Liguria close to the highest top of the Monte Grande – Colle di Ogia – that is part of the Alpes Maritime, between the villages of Carpasio (5 kilometres) and San Bernardo di Conio (3 kilometres), and at a distance of 20 kilometres from the sea (Arma di Taggia), 60 kilometres from Monaco and 80 kilometres from Nice.
