Have strong local connections to the Parish of Somerton including having a Close Family Association in the said parish and/or any periods of ordinary residence in the said parish not immediately before the date upon which any Affordable Housing Unit becomes vacant and/or such persons who have permanent employment in the Parish of Somerton. iii. Immediately prior to the allocation of the Affordable Housing Unit have been ordinarily resident or have a Close Family Association or permanent employment within the adjoining parishes of Charlton Mackrell, Compton Dundon, High Ham, Kingweston, Kingsdon, Long Sutton, Pitney and Walton. iv. Any person registered on the Homefinder Somerset Register, or such low cost homeownership registration required by Somerset Council, and in the event of there being no one available, any person approved in writing by Somerset Council.

The Financial Criteria for the maximum single or joint income is as follows: a. The maximum single income is calculated as ((A x 95%) x 115%) / 3.75; b. The maximum joint income is calculated as ((A x 95%) x 115%) / 3.25; In each case “A” is the selling price for the Affordable Housing Unit being purchased (in the case of self-employed person their income is to be taken as the average income over the preceding three years) or other such single or joint income as agreed in writing by Somerset Council up to a maximum of £80,000.
