Alaior
Alaior is one of the most quintessential of Menorcan towns, located in the Centre of Menorca, benefiting from an all year round community, medical centre, schools, sports complex and shops. Not far from the beaches of Son Bou and Calan Porter on the South Coast with their beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters in a picture postcard setting. To the north, you have the beaches of Arenal d'en Castell, Macaret, Son Parc (Arenal de Son Saura) and Fornells, an area which is great for water sports. Alaior is just as special in the evening, as it is in the day, enjoy a stroll around the town and stop off to taste some local tapas in the heart of the commercial center, there is no better way to immerse yourself in to the Spanish way of living. The airport is a 10 mins drive away, the nearest towns are Mercadal, Sant Clemente and Mahon, and the nearest alternative beaches / resorts are Santo Tomas, Cala Canutells, Binidali, Es Calo Blanc, Binisafua, Binibequer and Punta Prima on the south coast, Es Grau and Cala Mesquida on the north coast.

Menorca is also blessed with a thriving archaeological and cultural heritage with hundreds of monumental sites including towns and prehistoric remains and beautiful little fishing villages that still protect their ancient traditions.
The longest distance between two points is 47 kilometres, so hiring a car is a good way to explore the island. Mahon International airport is a short 5 kilometres from the capital Mahon.
