About Gaunts Ltd, Leeds

52 Springfield Commecial Centre, Bagley Lane, Farsley, Leeds, LS28 5LY

The Gaunt family can be traced back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1, 1558 - 1603. The family history is rich in terms of its connection to the area of Calverley, Pudsey and Farsley, and its involvement in textiles, first as clothiers and subsequently as Worsted Spinners and Woollen and Worsted manufacturers at Springfield and Broom Mills. The company was founded in 1875 by Reuben Gaunt and converted into a Limited Company in 1896. That Company trades to this day.

Worsted Spinning came to an end in 1972 at Springfield Mills and the Company disposed of its cloth manufacturing in 1998. The letting of property commenced in the mid seventies at Springfield Mills as the family sought to utilize its assets in a fast changing world. The portfolio was extended by acquisition of other textile mills and conversions and by individual purchases, a policy which is actively pursued.

Family owned and managed our approach is individual, where every enquiry is as important as the next, be it large or small. We take pride in our ability to translate your requirement into a reality whilst understanding the commercial world in which we all trade. The understanding of our role in and for the community reflects our heritage and is a critical part of our philosophy.
