Avoch is popular for its attractive coastal location and easy access to Inverness (about a 20 min drive away) which has all the facilities of a modern city with an airport with regular flights to Europe and the South. Avoch has an active harbour which includes trips to see the world-famous Moray Coast Dolphins at Chanonry Point. The village has its own primary school with top class secondary education being found in the neighbouring village of Fortrose. Avoch has a general store, fisherman's co-operative, coffee shop and three take-away restaurants.

Two miles along the coast brings you to Fortrose where a wider range of shops and services can be found including, a butchers, supermarket, top class restaurant, takeaway outlets, leisure centre, GP surgery and pharmacy. At Rosemarkie you will find a wide bay and one of the finest beaches on the Moray Firth Coast. Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club is the 15th oldest in the world and is a classic example of Scottish Links golf, designed by James Braid.
