Owners Interview

Looking back 30 years, we recall the first time we saw the Tower House. We had been hiking along the Southwest Coast Path, which follows the cliff edge of Daddyhole Plain. We were watching the little fishing boats on the sparkling sea with a blue sky and a pair of red kites gliding overhead. As we regretfully turned to leave, we caught sight of a rather handsome well-built house across the Plain and it was for sale!
We have been fortunate enough to enjoy that view every morning and every evening since we have been here in all seasons; to watch the sun and moonrise over the sea and see the twinkling lights of the local harbours at night is always alluring.
We also love the location of the house, being a 10-minute walk to Meadfoot beach where we meet friends for coffee and lunch, or swim, kayak and paddleboard. If we want to switch things up, we also have a choice of hotels, a stone’s throw away.

Owners Interview

A walk of 10-minutes in the opposite direction takes us to the town if we wish to be part of a more bustling social experience.
There is a sense of friendly community here too, with our lovely near neighbours and the daily dog walkers who visit the Plain. The house has been a hub for family and friends; it is easy in a property of this size with a large kitchen and two spacious bright reception rooms, all with high ceilings. If we had to choose a favourite feature it would be the tower bedroom with its beautiful views of the whole Bay and receiving sunlight all day long. The private and protected sanctuary of the pretty walled garden at the rear of the house would come a close second.
We will be sad to leave what has been home for the last 3 decades, however our needs have changed, and newborn family members are starting to arrive elsewhere. We know that someone will love the house and all it has to offer as much as we have and that makes leaving easier.
