Seller insights
“We’ve absolutely loved living in this beautiful location. It’s so peaceful and private – we’re not overlooked at all, and the views in every direction are simply breathtaking.
The living spaces in the property are wonderfully versatile, with a choice of reception rooms to suit every occasion – all enjoying fantastic views. We spend a lot of our time in the family room, which is a lovely, light-filled space to relax and unwind.
We’re both keen gardeners and we’ve transformed the grounds over the past four years – planting the vegetable garden, orchard and flower beds. There’s colour here all year round, and the gardens are a haven for wildlife, from owls and deer to a wide variety of birds. It’s a real joy.
We grow plenty of our own fruit and vegetables – strawberries, blackberries, rhubarb, apples, pears and plums. In summer, we’re spoiled for choice with the harvest.
We’ve loved hosting family and friends in the covered outdoor kitchen pavilion. It’s fitted with a BBQ, two fridges and a large open fire – and the curtain enclosure makes it cosy in the cooler months. It’s such a great space for entertaining all year round.
The outbuildings offer so much potential. The barn would be ideal for a car enthusiast, or it could even be adapted for equestrian use – it’s been used as stables before. The large workshop is perfect for hobbies, and there’s scope to develop the gardens and land further.
It’s wonderful to enjoy such a peaceful setting while still being close to village amenities and larger towns like Boston and Spalding. Boston offers a great range of shops, and both Lincoln and Peterborough are within an hour’s drive. There are lots of good places to eat near here, such as The Thatched Cottage at Sutterton, the Black Bull at Donington and the Red Lion at Bicker.
The area is great for days out. You can reach the coast in around half an hour or Norfolk in an hour. So, it’s a great location, with easy access across the region and beyond.•
