OWNER’S COMMENTS..
We’ve been so lucky to host several wedding receptions here at our house and in the garden—150 guests, no problem. The joy of seeing everyone celebrate together, with plenty of parking in the back field, makes it feel even more special. We’ve also held charity garden parties and private live music concerts in the garden, creating memories that will last a lifetime. When winter rolls around, we open up our home for receptions with 50+ guests. There’s something so comforting about everyone gathering around the fireplaces, enjoying the warmth, and filling the three big reception rooms with laughter and love. We’ve had family gatherings, too—12 of us staying here for a full week, creating memories we’ll cherish forever. And whether it’s the kids or the adults, we all love spending time in the swimming pool, all year round. Easter egg hunts in the garden were always a highlight—watching the kids run around, discovering hidden treasures, is something we’ll always remember. Joelle and I are fortunate to both work from home, and the space we have here has been perfect for us. Our main office, along with three well-insulated garden offices, offer so many possibilities. They could easily become garden rooms, a quiet place to work or reflect, or whatever you envision. We’re lucky to be connected to two footpaths that lead out to the countryside. It’s such a peaceful escape, yet we’re still close enough to the shops in Crawley Down. The reception rooms have such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere—they truly feel like the heart of the home. And the master bedroom—it’s hard to put into words how beautiful and vast it is. The garden is a peaceful oasis, with several secluded parts to explore, each one offering something unique. There’s something magical about growing our own vegetables in the greenhouse and tending to the fruit in the orchard. It brings a sense of fulfillment. Our indoor swimming pool is a true blessing—swimming all year round, with the sliding doors open in summer, walking out onto the lawn and lying on a lounger to soak up the sun. It feels like a slice of heaven. The garden comes alive with flowers in the spring, filling the air with colour and fragrance. There’s also the option to rent out the cottage or single rooms for extra income, but still with complete privacy. The cottage even has its own separate electricity and gas supply. It’s comforting to know there are no building restrictions here—it’s not a listed building, so we’re free to make it our own. One of the things we’ve always appreciated is the generous size of most of the rooms—it makes everything feel open, airy, and inviting. We heat our home with eco-friendly air-source heat pumps and have three EV car chargers installed—one in the garage and two outside, so we’re ready for whatever comes next.
