BALE is a small, rural village ideally situated to provide easy access to both the coast and countryside of North Norfolk. It is centred around the church and the green facing it, upon which stand the Bale Oaks, a copse of evergreen oaks planted in the early 18th century and now the property of The National Trust. There is a village hall which hosts clubs and societies including yoga and Pilates sessions along with social events including fish & chip evenings.
Blakeney, with its creeks leading to a small harbour, is just 5 miles to the north whilst Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham, with their sandy beaches, are to the west. The whole coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Georgian market town of Holt is 5 miles away and contains an excellent range of shops as well as Gresham’s School, offering private education from 2-18 years.
This cottage lies within a designated Conservation Area.
