Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are enjoying living in the area and exploring the neighbourhoods and beautiful green spaces including along the canal and the meadows. Lots of great coffee shops and convenient shops and supermarkets. We haven’t had any issues with noise or anti social behaviour but have noticed quite a bit of rubbish around, particularly on the bin collection days (though it is cleaned up after this). The bus services are great and frequent and it is handy being near haymarket for the trams and trains. The area is close to everything and feels family friendly.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes and they have done so quickly, resolving issues immediately

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

For people who are new to Edinburgh any tips or recommendations for the area are always helpful

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good: accessibility, transport links and grocery shops. The proximity to the canal is great. Bad: not much personality, some traffic noise

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been really helpful and responsive. There were a few snagging issues, as with any new building, and they’ve been great at attending to these.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It would’ve been good to get a better idea of what future developments at the New Fountainbridge site would be, in terms of other vendors moving in and progress on the buildings due to open. I also wish I had known the parking situation better. Otherwise I felt I had a pretty good sense of the place.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

New Fountainbridge is in a great spot in Edinburgh. Close to shops, restaurants and bars, but also plenty of green space with the Meadows a short walk away and the Union Canal on your doorstep.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve been fortunate not to have had any issues, but I’ve no doubt they would be resolved promptly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I can’t really think of anything. My initial visit was really informative and I was able to ask any questions I had prior to signing my tenancy agreement.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We decided to move to New Fountainbridge after relocating from Sydney to Edinburgh in March. We loved the area when we visited in 2023 and it's perfectly located for our family near shops, the centre and the local school. We've found the area to be a great location for young families who want to be near to the centre and don't mind the hustle and bustle of the city (although the area is much more relaxed than city centres like Sydney or London!). People have been really friendly and the local cafes and pubs excellent. For larger supermarket shops, we need to get a bus or light rail but getting about is quick and easy. We also love being near the Princess Street playground and the Meadows, both a short bus ride or walk away.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had a few items requiring attention from the inventory inspection. The team allocated someone to look and resolve these within 24 hours. If we need to speak to someone, we can walk 2 mins to the office and get advice or support as needed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Having access to guest wifi in the building, even for a few days would have been great as we were getting set up with our internet and mobile phones. Also a local area guide, listing supermarkets, transport etc would have been handy, but not an issue as so much is easy to to find online.

    Manager's response

Hi Rob, Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful and detailed review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that your experience with New Fountainbridge has been such a positive one, especially after such a big move for your family from Sydney. It’s wonderful to know that the team were able to support you throughout the process from your initial video viewing right through to move-in and that you have felt welcomed and well looked after. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to Euan, Courtney, and the wider team. We are also really pleased that you are enjoying the development itself, as well as the local area. It’s great to hear that the location, amenities, and nearby green spaces like The Meadows and Princes Street Gardens are working so well for your family. Thank you as well for your helpful suggestions regarding WiFi and a local area guide. These are really valuable points and we will certainly take them into consideration as we continue to improve the resident experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation, and are so glad that choosing New Fountainbridge has been a “big win” for you and your family. If there’s ever anything you need, we are always here to help. Have a great day!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great! We received a free coffee voucher at move-in ( lots of other nice goodies in the move-in gift) for the coffee cave just across street and have continued to go back! You are so close to the city center here but far enough away that it doesn't feel to busy. Lots of shops and things to do close by. The flats are also right beside the canal so you can go on a nice walk as well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I've not had any issues as of yet. But based on my experience so far, I feel confident that they will be helpful should I ever need anything.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Everything was clearly communicated. Because of this, I can't think of anything that I wish I had known. I really do love my new flat

    Manager's response
