Description

Thurlow Road is a hidden gem. Living here gives me community, great neighbours and parking outside my front door. I enjoy beautiful long views across the green space opposite where people picnic and walk dogs. My fish love their pond next to the herb border, roses and apple tree in the garden. The birdbath is always busy with birds.

The home

A characterful and well-proportioned Victorian terrace on Thurlow Road, Greenbank, arranged across three generous floors including a substantial converted loft, and offering around 130 square metres of versatile family accommodation. The handsome stone façade sits within a classic terraced row, and the property retains much of its original charm throughout.
Entrance is through a central hallway leading into the living room at the front of the house, a warm, inviting space, centred around a characterful fireplace breast, with original pine floorboards and open shelving built into the alcoves. It is the kind of room that feels genuinely lived-in and loved, full of personality without sacrificing comfort. To the rear, the ground floor opens into a substantial kitchen, dining and living area, with a log burner. This is a sociable, light-filled space that forms the real heart of the home. The kitchen is fitted with dusky rose cabinetry and warm timber worktops, with a range-style gas cooker and good overhead extraction. A dining area sits alongside, with rear-facing windows drawing in garden light and a relaxed, unhurried feel to the whole space.
On the first floor, two well-proportioned bedrooms sit either side of a central landing, both are comfortable doubles with good ceiling height and natural light. A family bathroom serves this floor, as well as a study room at the front of the home, offering practical flexibility for a busy household.
The second floor loft conversion is a genuinely impressive space, with sloped ceilings and good headroom, it functions equally well as a principal bedroom, creative studio, or generous home workspace. A compact bathroom on this level adds real independence to the floor.

Outdoor space

The rear garden is a real highlight, a long, established plot with a paved patio directly off the kitchen, a central lawn, a mature wildlife pond, and a timber garden shed with its own covered lean-to area. Rose arches, fruit trees and densely planted borders give the garden a gloriously secluded, well-loved character. There is real depth to the plot, offering scope for growing, entertaining, or simply unwinding away from the city.
