Woolwich Town Centre
High street stores and cafés sit alongside the town’s thriving markets on Beresford Square and Plumstead Road, Dating back to the 1600s this colourful market offers an array of goods in a fully accessible, vehicle free environment. The arrival of a forthcoming Tesco Superstore, which will be the chain’s largest European store, will offer over 80,000sq ft of retail space and further enhance the town centre’s appeal.

Thames Clipper
Royal Arsenal Riverside boasts its own pier for the Thames Clipper fast ferry service, which can whisk you in comfort to North Greenwich O2 in just 6 minutes; Canary Wharf in under 30; and London Bridge in under 40 minutes.
Crossrail
Set to open in 2022, Crossrail trains will travel from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east via new twin tunnels under central London, dramatically reducing journey times, in some cases by up to half. With stops that will include Paddington, Bond Street and Liverpool Street, it will link Heathrow Airport, the West End, the City of London and Canary Wharf – with the forthcoming on-site station at Royal Arsenal Riverside.
Airports
London City Airport is just 6 minutes away by DLR from Woolwich Arsenal, and serves 30 destinations with international connections to hundreds more. The busiest airport in the UK, London Heathrow, is 23 miles from Royal Arsenal Riverside and handles over 67 million passengers each year and offers a choice of over 200 domestic, European and international destinations. It takes just under an hour to reach Terminal 5 by taking the train to London Bridge, the Tube to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express. Gatwick Airport is 25 miles away and London’s second largest international airport, with daily flights to hundreds of worldwide destinations. This too can be reached in under an hour by taking the train to London Bridge, and then connecting with the service to Gatwick.

Driving directions
By Road
The A206 Plumstead Road runs adjacent to the Royal Arsenal Riverside giving direct links via the Blackwall Tunnel north of the Thames and to Central London. The A205/208 runs south from Woolwich providing access to the A2 and the M25.
By Rail
Royal Arsenal Riverside is approximately 300 metres from Woolwich Arsenal Overground and DLR Stations. From here high frequency rail services run to London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
By DLR
Woolwich Arsenal DLR station opened in January 2009 and is located only 300 metres from Royal Arsenal Riverside. Trains run at least every ten minutes to and from Woolwich Arsenal.
The Woolwich Arsenal extension serves all stations on the London City Airport route (City Airport 6 minutes) and Canning Town, the latter providing connections to Canary Wharf (20 minutes), Bank (28 minutes) and to the Jubilee Line for London Bridge and the West End.
With the DLR Stratford International extension opening for the 2012 Olympics, trains are planned to operate every four minutes between Woolwich Arsenal and Stratford International. (source: Transport for London).
By Tube
Jubilee Line services operate from Green Park and London Bridge to North Greenwich. A taxi rank or buses are available from North Greenwich Station, with bus journey times of between 15 and 20 minutes.
By River
Thames Clippers offer a direct service to key stops in central London and Docklands business and entertainment areas, with the option of connection to other modes of transport. Royal Arsenal Riverside to The O2 takes just 8 minutes, and to Canary Wharf just 23 minutes.
